What happens after you get in touch
You speak to a broker, not a call centre script. The first conversation is mostly us asking questions: what you are trying to buy or refinance, roughly what you earn, and what you already owe. It is usually shorter than people expect.
From there we compare your situation against the policies of the lenders on our panel — more than 60 of them — and come back to you with a shortlist and the reasoning behind it. If we do not think the timing or the structure is right, we will tell you that too. Saying “not yet” is sometimes the useful answer.
We are a broker, not a lender. We do not lend our own money and we do not make the approval decision. Every application is assessed by the lender.
Talking to us does not put an enquiry on your credit file. We work out where you fit before anything is formally lodged, and there is no cost or obligation in finding out.
What to have handy
None of this is required to make the first call, but having it nearby makes the conversation quicker:
- What you are looking to finance, and roughly what it will cost.
- Your income, and whether you are employed, self-employed or a company.
- Any loans, cards or commitments you already have.
- Whether you have a deposit or a trade-in.
